Jesus, that's hard. Almost all the music I listen to is 90's music, so narrowing it down to ten albums is tough. I'll give it a try, in no particular order:

10. Dave Matthews Band-tossup between Under the Table and Dreaming and Crash

9. Foo Fighters-The Colour and the Shape

8. Incubus-Make Yourself

7. Nirvana-Nevermind (although I never bought In Utero, so this is tentative)

6. Pearl Jam-I can't decide between Ten and Vitalogy

5. Rage Against the Machine-I can't decide between Battle of Los Angeles and Evil Empire

4. Red Hot Chili Peppers-Californication

3. Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream

2. Soundgarden-Superunknown

1. Female bands and ska are severely underrepresented here, so I'll go with No Doubt-Tragic Kingdom, but I feel bad leaving Hole, Garbage, Sonic Youth, Cranberries, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, and Sublime off. Also, I think I almost completely skipped punk. I could probably rattle off 10 great punk albums from the 90s in about 30 seconds.

  10. UGK - Ridin' Dirty

As cheesy as it is to admit this I really love 90's pop music. They really don't make it like they used to these days. It's a real shame.

The sound of four men chopping down The Joshua Tree: Achtung Baby (U2). And many others already contributed to this topic.
